Retail Display Redesign: A Mini Case Study

Completely redesigned the previous product packaging for this BBQ lighter, creating a modern, eye-catching display using bold colors and high-contrast graphics. The modernized version uses bolder color, clearer hierarchy and more explicit product-use imagery to improve shelf visibility and communicate the product at a glance.. The revised dieline lowered the overall display height, improving pack-out efficiency and reducing shipping bulk.

Challenge: Unclear product use, outdated visuals, weak shelf visibility, and an unnecessarily tall shipping footprint.

Approach: I reworked the visual design and structural footprint, creating custom die lines in both full-height and reduced-height display configurations.

My role: Creative concept and execution, layout, structural concept, production artwork and vendor-ready files.

Result: Final design was produced; the shorter configuration reduced dimensional volume, allowing for reduced shipping costs per unit.

Before redesign: display of acetylene torches with text and arrows pointing out hard-to-read packaging and unclear product use.
After redesign: display of acetylene torch multipurpose lighters in red and green with modern black and yellow packaging and clear text. Text and arrows point out the benefits of the redesign.
